Backing tracks for this session
In this session, we continue with the second rhythmic pattern of the “Rotation” piece. As with the previous rhythmic pattern, it is essential to pay close attention to hand placement and finger technique. Carefully follow the designated fingerings and practice each note just as you did in the earlier pattern
Begin by counting each beat and clearly marking the corresponding finger placement for every strike. This method ensures that you can execute each handpan rhythm figure accurately and confidently. After mastering the individual beats, practice them continuously and repetitively, gradually moving on to the subsequent beats to develop smooth transitions and rhythmic consistency
Once you are comfortable with each beat individually, play the pattern continuously and then proceed to practice the following measures. This approach strengthens your alternating hand technique, improves finger coordination, and helps you achieve fluent rhythmic execution without having to consciously think about each movement
Consistent practice of this pattern also enhances your ability to combine rhythm and melody, preparing you for more advanced handpan compositions and musical arrangements. By focusing on proper finger placement, counting, and rhythm reading, you will gain control over both dynamics and tempo, essential for expressive and professional handpan performance
