Arpeggio is essentially a type of chord played in a broken or sequential manner, where the notes of a chord are executed one by one, either from low to high or high to low. Mastering arpeggios is a fundamental skill for handpan (hang drum) players, as it adds depth, fluidity, and melodic richness to your performances
In this lesson, we focus on learning arpeggios on the handpan, exploring how to play them smoothly and accurately. You will also practice a handpan arpeggio piece, which combines multiple arpeggio patterns to create a melodic and harmonic structure. This approach not only enhances your hand coordination and rhythmic control but also introduces one of the key composition techniques for handpan music
By practicing these exercises, you will develop a better understanding of handpan melody construction, improve finger placement and striking technique, and gain confidence in integrating arpeggios into your own handpan compositions. This lesson is perfect for both beginners and advanced players seeking to expand their handpan musical vocabulary and expressiveness
