A chord is the simultaneous playing of multiple notes, each of which has a specific degree and interval within the chord structure. The most common chords are made up of three notes, known as triads, and learning chords is one of the most essential aspects of understanding music theory and improving musical performance
On the handpan, it is possible to play both three-note and four-note chords. However, due to the instrument’s physical layout and limitations, three-note chords are the most commonly used and practical for performance
In this lesson, we focus on learning and practicing various chords on the handpan. You will explore different chord types, understand their structures, and practice how to execute them accurately. Mastering chords will enhance your musical expression, rhythmic timing, and ability to create harmonically rich melodies on the handpan
