Lesson 16: Performance of Piece 2 with Backing Track

This session is the final lesson of the first term of the PlayPan course. It’s time to practice the second piece together and then perform it with the backing track, applying all the skills you have learned so far. In this lesson, we will use the foundational techniques covered in previous PlayPan sessions, including note reading, quarter and eighth note rhythm reading, and proper finger placement, ensuring your practice is both precise and musical

The piece is written in 4/4 time signature, meaning each measure contains four beats, providing a steady and organized rhythmic framework. Each measure includes eighth notes and quarter notes, creating a dynamic melody line and challenging your rhythm reading and hand coordination skills. Paying close attention to note durations, beats, and finger placement will allow you to perform the piece accurately and make your handpan technique smoother and more expressive

Practicing with the backing track enhances your timing, musical expression, and performance confidence. This exercise consolidates all the skills you have learned so far, from precise rhythm reading to accurate finger placement, preparing you for more advanced pieces in your PlayPan journey. After this session, you will not only enjoy playing the handpan correctly but also be ready to continue improving your skills and exploring more complex musical pieces
